Soulja spoke on working on his new album a while back. And, if you follow him on instagram. Then you had the pleasure of seeing the concept cover work of his new project. Well, after months of waiting on some kind of update about it. Soulja has come out to say that the production of this album is almost complete.

This new album carrying the entitlement of "Redemption" is halfway of being completed. Soulja spoke a little about the project, and where he is mentally while working on it. He says "This album is pretty much the same journey I took people with the previous album. This one is a little more darker than the last one though. Before I started this album I reached a state of mind that kind scared me. Where a lot of the things I feared came to the surface."

Soulja and Cash are known for collaborating on tracks. If you look through either artist discography you'll see that these two show up in each other's discography since the beginning of time almost. But, it has been a long time that Soulja and Cash have collaborated on a entire mixtape together though.

Soulja has been MIA partially the whole year. Random music dropping now, and again. Promises of something new, but nothing concrete. It took a old friend to bring Soulja back to the music. The old friend is... Cash. Everybody knows Cash and Soulja has the best musically relationship. And, it took Cash to reach out to Soulja to bring him back from no man's land.

Soulja initially reached out to Cash for some collab tracks. Cash reached back by sending the remix for "Shawty for the Summer" single. Soulja blessed a nice verse on the song. And, showed that he has not lost a step. Although Soulja did speak about the recording process was alot more difficult than it used to be for him.

Where has been Soulja Corleone for 2013? Is the question everyone seems to be asking. Not a song leak, a feature or anything from the artist as of late. The last time Soulja was mentioned was during the earlier month of 2013 when he spoke about the "Return to the Underground" mixtape. Which he promised would drop.
But, it is now officially summer, and no mixtape. With no signs of Soulja in sight, but now he has appeared to speak about why he's been MIA, and what happened to the mixtape he promised.

He says "I've been away getting me together as a artist. I always seem to say that, but for some reason I felt as if I wasn't ready musically. To be honest I had put so much false courage into myself with the mixtape. That when it came down to it. I just wasn't up to par. When I finally realized that... I went into shut down mode."

He continues by saying... "I worked on "Return to the Underground" mixtape as much as I could. Going back, and fixing loose ends on pre-recorded songs. But, not really writing anything new. Then, the horror happened. The hard drive I backed up my files on went missing, on top of computer failure which costed me all the files for my next album, and the mixtape. So, I was back at square one with nothing. And, not having the spirit to record, or produce anything new. Mentally it was exhausting to deal with that I just lost 2 years worth of production, and music. Nothing, that I could bring back, and re-record. Plus, I had so much going on in my personal life. I just had to break away. And, that what I did."

So, the question is... what now? Soulja gives the explanation of what e is going to do as of now. He says "Rebuild.. That's what I'm going to do. I'm back into the habit of producing. Trying to rekindle some relationships with artist I fell out with. And, come back strong lyrically, and just as a complete artist. Hopefully get everyone on the same page as me, and do the damn thing as a family. As things once was with everyone on the label."

With all that being said.. Is Soulja going to release something soon? The answer maybe YES. But, it will take time to find out...

With 2013 being a month in Soulja has been quiet, yet being heard at the start of this new year. Dropping a new track out the blue with D. Prodigy entitled "Shut It Down" which dropped some time ago. And, getting a major response for listeners of Soulja Corleone. Who haven't heard him in a min, or anything new. Soulja came out, and spoke on the mixtape he promised last year, and what is going to happen for this year.

He says "I didn't end 2012 off like I wanted to, I had so much lined up for "Return to the Underground" mixtape, and just didn't execute like I wanted to. But, I'm ready to get back into the lab, and finish the mixtape, and finish the joint mixtape with my cousin (D. Prodigy) that we began a while back." He continues by saying "You know its so much you want to do with your music, and its hard to get listens when your music is so deeply rooted into your personal life, and just the way things are in life right now. So, once in a while I just come out with something ignorant for the people to jam while the wait is on for my regular type of music."

He finishes off the conversation by saying "2013 is my get right year. I want to put out "Return to the Underground" mixtape, my joint mixtape with D. Prodigy, and get started on production for my album. As far as music goes for me right now. Production is all I been doing. So, its time to put the pen to the pad, and write the truth. Cause I know people forgot about me, but I didn't forget about them."

Soulja didn't include when the mixtape will be finish, and the date for the joint mixtape with D. Prodigy is going to drop, but it seems as he have somethings planned for the year already. So stay tuned to see what drops from Soulja Corleone soon.
