As 2011 almost comes to a close it has been a busy year for this independent artist we know as Soulja Corleone. We have watch his evolution year to year musically, and as a person. He has spoken freely about what his words mean in his music, and what it means to him, and these are his final words for the year 2011.

Soulja sat down with the SDIMG team, and spoke openly about this year, he says "Honestly, I can't wait for this year to be over, it has been maybe my worst/best years yet. To be real musically my best. I've written some of my best yet in this year, but mentally, and emotionally its taken its toll on me."

When asked what he meant by that statement Soulja says "I've been through some sh*t this year, its like I can't win for losing. I do good on one hand, and just fall off on the other. But, at the end of the day I continue to hold my head up. That's all I can do, that's all I ever done."

Soulja then went into speaking about the mixtapes he dropped this year, and what has become his new bar to reach in the next year. "I honestly don't know yet. "Who is Mildley Woods" is a hard mixtape to touch the music was just right, and it fit the summer, but I think "Never Given Sunday" is going to hold a spot in my personal collection. I spoke alot of truth on that mixtape, and "Undisputed" it wasn't something I just through together like I did with Mildley. Those two mixtapes was my soul just escaping, my pain, and experiences being painted. Some won't think that, but I think that."

So, when the question came up about the 2012 season. Soulja was sort of on a see-saw with it. He says "I got some ideas of things I want to do, but just as always I'm going to fall off that, and move to something else. I know I want to do something, that I've never done before. And, I think I got it, but I just have to see where it goes down the line. I know I'm going to push those who've been standing, and working hard as me more. Like Cash, and L3GEND. I saw my boys come along way, and we've came along way together, and I think 2012 is going to be the year we capitalize on all that we've done.

In those conclusive words Soulja said what he said, and spoke no more about it, but knowing him, he's going to push through anything, and do more than have a Street Dream, he is going to make it an reality.

There are officially 12 days left til the release of Soulja's final mixtape of 2011. And, via Twitter Soulja updated the progress on the mixtape.

He says "I'm officially taken with the tracklisting, the mastering is finished. This mixtape is starting to sound like a soundtrack to a movie." Although, after those tweets Soulja said "I'm still waiting on a few final pieces of the mixtape, but it as well as complete, and I'm 100% content on the mixtape the way that it is."

Alot of people are looking forward to this mixtape through the hype that Soulja has put out about it via his Facebook page, and Twitter. And, from the 3 songs that were released from the mixtape. It sounds as if its going to be a well balanced piece of work to end the year with.

Its now December, and the release of Soulja's last mixtape of the year is almost at its release. Soulja is always free to speak about his projects, and in his recent conversational with SDIMG label mates, and friends. He spoke on his reason for the entitlement of his "Never Given Sunday" mixtape.

Soulja says "I've been doing this music thing for a while, and in the last 2 years I've finally gained some listeners, and I not only mean casual listeners. I'm talking die hard listeners, who download every mixtape I drop. And, that makes me feel great about what I'm doing. But, sometimes it feels as if isn't the best I can do. When I was thinking of my next project, I happened to be watching the "Any Given Sunday" movie. And, was real inspired by that. The raw feel, and emotion of that movie. So, once I started recording the mixtape. I noticed that the few tracks almost sounded like a soundtrack. And, sitting back after a while I realized, this mixtape is going to have to be more than just me, because there are alot of great artist on the indie level, that doesn't get any recognition for their work. Then, it hit me. I'll name it "Never Given Sunday" the opposite of "Any Given Sunday" in the sense that myself, and the artist I'm working with on this mixtape. Are grinding extra hard, and putting everything we have into our dream of becoming something greater than we are, and getting there yet."

Then, Soulja went on to talk about who he chose to work with on this mixtape. He says "I didn't want to go into this project alone, I wanted it to be a team effort almost like in the movie. So, I reached out to not only my regular collaborators, but some I've never worked with like Will Boy who was recommended to me by DJ Marksman, and C. Smif, who I've been following musically for the past year, and a half. I reached out to Dyce former member of Meta4ical Click. And, I've been trying to reach out to Carly; who has done hooks for Cash on songs, and Jay Notez; who is a close friend of C. Smif."

Soulja then set the mood of the mixtape of how the complete project would sound. He went on to say "Its going to sound like a dramatic soundtrack to fit a movie. Songs that identify each artist as a their own character. Designed by themselves, and the lyrics they chose to use, and the way they chose to deliver it."

Soulja also did say that "Never Given Sunday" is about 85% complete. There is still songs that are waiting on call backs from a few artist, and alot of mix, and mastering left to do before the mixtape is completely finished. Although he said due to so many people not reaching back to him. It may be missing more than he expects.

Let the people rejoice the first leak from "Never Given Sunday" dropped some days ago. And, it features a new collaborator to Soulja, and that is Carolina artist Will Boy. Who Soulja reached out to through recommendation from DJ Marksman. If you don't remember DJ Marksman, he dropped "Who Is Mildley Woods? (Chopped & Screwed) a few months ago.

Now this song is old for the reason Soulja dropped this song about 8 months ago as a sneek peek to us. So, to finally see it come back out is something good for the people who was waiting to hear a full version of this song. But, Soulja tweeted earlier this evening that this isn't the complete finish of the song. The final mix will feature SDIMG's own Cash to top this track off. Check out the track below...

Its been a while since Soulja collaborated with UK artist Adam Lobb, who also goes by the name Treneere. Last time Soulja and Adam collaborated was on a track called "Do a Driveby" which was about a year, and a half ago.

Soulja said "I was going to reach out to Adam to feature on my new mixtape, and just as anyone who is willing to work on my project, I asked him if he need a feature, he threw me a track, and I did it about 30 mins of recieving it, he threw me two more, and I dropped them in about a hour. I'm happy with the outcome of each verse, and the songs completely. Adam is a cool artist to work with, he always has great beat selections, and that's why I like working with him."

You can check out two of the 3 songs Soulja featured on Adam Lobb's "Unfinished Business" mixtape below.

Its days away from the release of Soulja's next mixtape "Never Given Sunday" but the young artist is at work, and highly dedicated to the project. Soulja said "I've been putting in some hours on this mixtape, and I'm way ahead of schedule still, there is about 12 completed verses done already, but I still have plenty to go. As of right now I'm waiting on some verses, and hooks to come back from artist I'm collaborating with on this project. But, while they're doing that I'm still recording."

Soulja has already lined up many collaborations for this mixtape like Carolina's own Will Boy, C. Smif, and Jay Notez. While bring on SDIMG's favorites Cash, L3GEND, and Hollywood. But, there will be more to come as far as features on this mixtape. Soulja is highly focus on making one of the best collaborative solo mixtapes of his career.

The wait is on for "Never Given Sunday" which drops on Dec 25. But, more or less the listeners is waiting on a single to drop from the mixtape. Everyone is waiting, and Soulja will deliever.
  • 11:06 PM
As 2011 comes into its final months. Soulja has been hard at work coming off the release of his recent mixtape "Undisputed" which dropped on the 5th of November. And, he has already set his sights on his year ender project which is entitled "Never Given Sunday" that has a release date already.

Soulja has been constantly updating his Twitter, and Facebook about the work on the mixtape. And, his creative juices has been pouring out. Soulja said "My start for 2011 didn't go as planned, so I'm hoping to end my year on a high note. And, I've had this project in mind for a while since the recording of "Who is Mildley Woods? back in June, or July of the year. And, now is the time where I make the idea a reality."

It seems Soulja's determination will bring a great product to end the year with for himself, and the SDIMG label. Although he did say this "2011 has been a good/bad year for me, so I won't start anything during the early months of 2012, but if by the power of the most high, I will try to start dropping mid-2012."

"Never Given Sunday" drops on December 25, and other information about the mixtape is hidden under wraps for only Soulja, and those included in the project to know.

On Oct. 25th "My Best Work" was released. It was not only to mark a day in Soulja's career, but also in his life. Oct. 25, 2011 brought more than happiness to Soulja by not only his daughter turning 5 yrs old. But, the mixtape that capped his career from 2008 til 2011 did well in downloads with hardly any promotion for it.

On the day of the release in a matter of 2 hours "My Best Work" hit over 300 downloads, a day after the release did another 300 downloads. Now, 2 days after the release "My Best Work" sits pretty at over 800 downloads. Although it isn't much to brag about Soulja did say "The whole purpose of this mixtape was to put songs that people may have forgotten about back into their playlist of mine. And, to do such great numbers without hardly any promotion from outside sources beside myself talking about the project on Twitter is great to me. Alot of artist look towards big numbers, but an artist like myself looks at the bottom. People who downloaded this mixtape are truly listeners to my music, and understood the cause for it. Also, I like that thank those who downloaded it, and hit me up via Twitter, and Facebook wishing my daughter a Happy Birthday. She enjoyed ever wish she got."

Soulja also did say that there may be a "My Best Work 2" but that is far from now. He said that he is focusing on new projects before the year 2011 ends. And, to have them in the hands of the people who truly listen to his music. He announced a date for his next mixtape "Undisputed" which drops on November 5th.

If you haven't downloaded "MY BEST WORK" click here to add that to your collection.
  • 11:25 AM

Well it seems that Soulja went through alot of concept songs for his upcoming "Undisputed" mixtape. And, its been a while since a release from the mixtape due to Soulja working on his project for after the release of "Undisputed" which release date is November 5th.

SDIMG reps released this statement. "We dug into the files for the "Undisputed" project, and found that Soulja had deleted the original introduction track he had recorded for the mixtape. Although Soulja said that the track didn't fit the concept for "Undisputed" we decided to release it anyway for the awaiting listeners."

It seems as Soulja may have been right with the decision to ditch this song from the upcoming mixtape. Although it is a tight track. From the previous releases this song definitively doesn't fit what Soulja has recorded already. SDIMG reps say that "Undisputed" has went through its mastering stages, but is waiting on a few tracks that were sent out for collaborations. But, they have said that this is mainly a solo mixtape for Soulja, but Cash will feature on the mixtape.

For those who are waiting. Check the unofficial intro to the mixtape. For those who are waiting. The wait will soon be over.

  • 2:12 AM

As previously reported Soulja was suppose to be taking some time off from music, and focus on other things. It seems that was a lie. Soulja is working on another mixtape called "Undisputed" which will drop around the month of November. Right after the previously announced "My Best Work" mixtape. Which will drop on a special day for Soulja. Oct 25 which is the birthday of Soulja's daughter.

Soulja says "The reason for the date I choose is because my daughter is my best work ultimately. And, it felt so right to drop a remembrance  mixtape on the most remembered day in my life. So, I choose her birthday."

Soulja also spoke on how "Undisputed" came to be, and why he entitled it that. Soulja says "The mixtape actually came to me by whats going on right now in my life, and through the song "Stressing" which I put out a couple days ago. I felt like right now I'm really down like I've always been in my life, and I've always gotten back up, and proved myself sort of like a undisputed champion. Just through one song I put alot of things in, I felt as if I could pour a little more of me out, and make myself feel better while making a project that other people can relate too."

"Undisputed" has no release date yet, only that it maybe around November when it comes out. "My Best Work" drops Oct. 25, 2011.

Soulja has been in the music game for a while, and with the release of his "Who is Mildley Woods" mixtape he is just starting to get heard. And, at this time Soulja has reached out, and said "I live music, not only my own, but music made by my favorite artist such as Scarface, Z-Ro, 2Pac, and Nas. They have great songs, that will always be my favorites true veterans, but even with being in the game so long, you release music, and songs that people pass over. Its nice to stay relevant, but its even better to be remembered for a song you made tha never gets old. I've had a few of those songs, that people just seemed to pass over. And, I believe it could have been one of my best songs I've recorded. But, thats just how this game goes. Many vets used to say that your only relevant as your latest song, and album. And, I want to break that with "My Best Work" mixtape."

Soulja also went on to say "I need a rest from the game, and pay more attention to those who I've brought on. Its hard to juggle what your working on, and someone else's project. And, I'm not saying that those on the label can't carry their weight, but its my job as the leader to keep everyone pushing. So "My Best Work" maybe the latest, and the last release that people hear from me for a while."

Speaking with Cash, and Yung Rocky about Soulja's attempt to take time off. They simple said "You got to respect it, Soulja works hard on his own projects, and we all ask of something from him when we're working on our projects, and he can never tell us no. So, the time off from recording, and working on solo projects will give him time to work with us closer on ours, and some time to himself to work out personal issues."

The "My Best Work" mixtape will be released Oct. 25, 2011. And, before that it will be "Who is Mildley Woods? (Chopped & Screwed, and Hosted by DJ Marksman)" You can view that article here. Lets hope that Soulja does come back in 2012, and hit the people with something as big as "Who Is Mildley Woods?" again.

How many people remember that Soulja is also a DJ, and one of many Chopped, and Screwed DJs. So, it was only right that "Who is Mildley Woods?" drops as an Chopped and Screwed mixtape. But, instead of doing it himself. Soulja called on someone who he looks up to as a DJ, and an Chopped and Screwed DJ. Someone who he dubbed as his big brother, and that would be the one, and only DJ Marksman.

Soulja commented on how privileged he felt. "People think that I exaggerate when I say that it makes me feel as a better artist to have my music done by someone who takes as much pride in their craft as I do in mines. Marksman has been one of the few I look to as a mentor, someone who I attempt to follow after when it comes to my DJing. I call him my big brother cause that's all he's ever been to me, and still for him to touch some of my work is like having DJ Screw make a Screw tape out of my songs. That's how it feels for me."

DJ Marksman did announce via Twitter that "Who is Mildley Woods (Chopped & Screwed)" is finished, and a little something will be put out to the people who wait for it. So, screw heads get your double cup, and prepare to pour up."

As the release gets closer, and closer for Soulja of his upcoming mixtape. He is starting to feel some relief in the work he has done on the mixtape. When asked the importance of this mixtape to him.

Soulja replied "This mixtape is what I been working for since I started putting my music out through the internet. I seen the power that it holds for so many artist striving to get heard. And, I've had my fair share of listens, but this mixtape will put me up to where I've never been before. I get many people who say that I am a close reminder of Wiz Khalifa to them. And, my simple reply to that is... "Who is Mildley Woods?" is what "Kush & OJ" was to Wiz Khalifa. A mixtape that will never get old that almost sounds like an album. A mixtape that will make the die hard listeners wait for more, and make new listeners out those who doubted my abilities."

With such rave reviews about how good the mixtape is. Soulja said "Good words is fuel to make great music."

So, with all the buzz going around about the "Who is Mildley Woods?" mixtape it seems as Soulja won't let stop with just this one. He even dropped a insider during the listening session that this won't be the last we hear of Mildley Woods.

"Who is Mildley Woods?" will drop on Sept 2, 2011 to the masses for free download. And, Soulja has great expectations that the numbers of this mixtape will overdue any other mixtape that he has done in the first week. But, Soulja did say that his biggest worry is that the demand for "Mildley Woods" will become to great for him. And, will possibly diminish who Mildley Woods really is, and that is "Soulja Corleone"

  • 7:49 AM

For people who have been waiting on this mixtape since its summer announcement. Soulja has finally come out, and said that the awaited "Who is Mildley Woods?" mixtape is almost completed. Soulja has been updating his fan page like crazy about the mixtape. And, from what he says the mixtape is about 85% done recording wise. The only thing that will hold this project up is mastering, and a few edits here, and there.

Soulja says "I've been working like crazy late nights of working on this mixtape. I can't say its my best piece of work, but its up there. Everything is sounding good even in the rough stages. Just a few more tracks to come back on collaborations. And, a few solo tracks that needs editing for myself. But, the mixtape will be out soon."

Lets hope that Soulja stays true to his word. Just from the release tracks it seems as if the mixtape is going to be good. Which Soulja had something to say on that also. "I hate to disappoint, but there will be no more releases from the mixtape. I hope that the ones I have release will hold the people, and don't worry. I will put something new out when I can."

Everyone lets gear up for the release of "Who is Mildley Woods?" Sometime soon.

What came out as a interlude from the upcoming mixtape. Turns to be a full song featuring label artist L3GEND. "MC Khalifa (Intermission)" came out about 2 weeks before this version. How this came to be? L3GEND heard the making of "MC Khalifa" and asked to do a verse, but during that time. Soulja had already released it as a intermission track to be featured on "Who is Mildley Woods?" mixtape. But, it no problem for Soulja to re-release the song with the added verse of L3GEND.

And, now the song is being featured in a Coast2Coast Mixtape contest. So give some support to L3GEND, and Soulja on this contest with the "MC Khalifa" track. Go to this LINK, view, and vote for the song. You can also view the song below.

The last release of tracks from the upcoming group YBG (Young, Blessed, and Gifted) self entitled mixtape. Produced by aDot the God. The crew livens up their current release of songs with this party track. Soulja via Facebook said before the release of the song. "This song is one of those tracks that you must put on at a party because of the high energy, its party motivation music. Something to do just what the song says get f*cked up"

Although 4 of the 5 members of YBG appears on the song, the verse provided by Ca$h will appear on his upcoming mixtape, and a version with 3 of the 5 memebers will appear on Soulja's upcoming "Who is Mildley Woods?" mixtape entitled "Half F*cked Up" which is just for Soulja's mixtape.

Seems like the YBG mixtape will be a great mix of songs, and well put together. Check out the new track below with download.

It seems that Soulja has put "Who is Mildley Woods" into work already. Although Soulja said that material on "Who is Mildley Woods" would be all new material, but it seems Soulja can't let go of some of his old material.

Soulja says "I had a few songs that I put out for the listeners, but didn't place them onto "To be Continued" as planned. So, to give them a place I want to place them on "Who is Mildley Woods" as interluds or something of that form. The tracks I've been considering was "Sunday Brunch" which features The Kid, "The Times" which I placed for free download a while back, and a soon to be released YBG (Young, Blessed, and Gifted) track "F*cked Up" which has not be completed yet as a full group, but will have a feature spot with only one person on the mixtape."

It seems as if Soulja's alter ego "Mildley Woods" showed up on these songs, and he would like to transfer them over to the current mixtape. Although, its not a good look for a broken promise. Soulja must think these songs the listeners would love to listen to again with the arrangement of new material he is working on.

Many listeners are awaiting the release, and futher updates on "Who Is Mildley Woods" it seems it would be bigger than any mixtape Soulja has previous released, or up to par with the great mixtapes, and albums he has released.
  • 5:47 PM
After the release of his recent mixtape "To Be Continued.." Soulja said it would be the last of half recorded mixtapes. And, it seems he is going to follow through with his new "Who Is Mildley Woods?" mixtape. Soulja said "The mixtape is somewhat underway I'm getting together the outline of where I want to go with it, but I'm going to start pushing it after the mixtape with YBG (Young, Blessed, and Gifted) is out."

The main question to ask to Soulja is "Who Is Mildley Woods? And, why name the mixtape this?" Soulja responded with "Mildley is my alter ego. He is more of the actual person I am. A free spirit, and easy going. Mildley has been around for a while. He just has a name now. Mildley Woods is my smokers name given to me by some of my homies. Mildley is for Black, and Milds, and Woods is for Wood Tipped. So, I thought what better to do than name a mixtape after my alter ego, and let people find out who he is."

With the beginning of this project we're expecting to hear a different type of music, but Soulja has already said that "Sunday Brunch" will be on "Who Is Mildley Woods?" mixtape for the reason that song was a Mildley Woods inspired track. When the mixtape will drop no one knows, but knowing Soulja its sometime soon.

So stay tune for more updates, music, and more about Mildley.

From one release to another Soulja is back his game with his onslaught of songs. Just releasing his latest mixtape "To Be Continued..." straight into working on a group project with fellow label artist Yung Rocky, Ca$h, and The Kid. Soulja comes on with a furious verse. The group did appear on the recent "To Be Continued.." mixtape with "Racks on Racks" and "Welcome to my Hood" tracks.

But, now its time for the group to drop their debut mixtape. Which is entitled "Young, Blessed, and Gifted" with no release date. But, the mixtape will have a awesome mix of songs when release. Check the new release "#IDGAF" below.

  • 5:00 AM

Its been a few months since Soulja put out a new mixtape to the public. Although he gave many promises of project. It seems he has been having more difficulty than thought out. It is already middle of the year, and Soulja only has 2 mixtapes to par with the once a month mixtape he promised.

But, lately Soulja has been journeying off into other things as in producing. Maybe that is the reason for the delay on the promised projects. Recently after the release of the "Interlude" mixtape. Soulja ran into a technical problem with the main computer crashing at the Street Dreams Inc Music Group media lab. The computer holding most of the songs Soulja had for the mixtapes he promised.

In recent discovery Soulja manage to savage some of those songs, and promised a mixtape called "The Crash" but due to the amount of songs savaged Soulja held back on that mixtape. Now, in the month of May Soulja has come out, and said that he will be releasing a mixtape called "To Be Continued" which follows upon the recent place holder "Intermission" and "Interlude" mixtapes. But, this will be the final mixtape of that series.

Soulja says "I've been holding back on a full fledged mixtape, and only putting out these short mixtapes for the reason, I've been business with the company, and would like to still keep some fresh music out for the fans to listen to. Many have replied that most of the songs was great, but too short. I heard them out, and my next mixtape will be upon that same level, but it will be the last of that kind." Soulja also said "I promised the "I am the Present 2" mixtape, and I will give the fans that. Along with the "Dope Nights at the Dream Factory" but all I ask of my listeners is be patient. I have alot of things on my plate, and it wears me thin sometimes. But, I will have what they want. Solo, and in group with the newly formed group YBG (Young, Blessed, and Gifted) who mixtape is in the works at the moment. For those who have been patient on me. I thank you for those who haven't I got something for you to hold onto."

When the "To Be Continued..." mixtape will drop Soulja hinted that it will be soon. Possiably a Friday release date. So keep your eyes closed, and your ears open for it.

At the beginning of 2011 Soulja promised new projects to the listeners. But, after the release of his year beginning mixtape "Intermission" everything came to a stand still for the artist.

Soulja explained "I had so much planned in regards for the year back in 2010. I started off great, and strong. But, I hit some lows with a current deal I was upholding. The company wasn't all the way forward on their end, and I became unbalanced for I was counting on that label for a push to relieve myself of somethings. Once that failed I had to go back to the drawing boards. And, even with that more things occurred that would set me back. As in Ca$h coming back to the label wanting to work on a new The Team mixtape. So, I steered alot of my attention to that instead of keeping up with my own projects."

As of now Soulja should be on the release of his "Zero Boundaries" EP, but he continue to say "The EP was part of the deal that went bad. But, I still will release it on my own. Its just gonna take a little longer than expected. The other mixtapes I promised will also drop, but at a different time. They are all in progress at the moment. The pieces will be put together in a moment."

But, to uphold some form of his promise Soulja said "I will put out a somewhat sampler mixtape with all the songs that are to be released between the other mixtapes I am to release, and some songs that was just written, and recorded, but never had a project to be released on."

The mixtape will be called "Interlude" a follow up mixtape to "Intermission" that will lead on into "Elevation" and "The Symptom" mixtape. Stay tune for more information on that mixtape, and more.

2011 started off well for Soulja Corleone, and the SDIMG family. Beginning with the "Intermission" mixtape, and supposedly continuing the success with another mixtape, and finally a EP album. But, into the second mixtape Soulja was suppose to release in the month of February.

Soulja announced via Facebook that his EP album was being pushed back, and possibly shelved. He claimed that he would make up for its absence on the release date. Friday, February 11, 2011 was the release date of the mixtape Soulja entitled "Elevation" the pre-mixtape before the EP album.

The date passed, and no mixtape release. Soulja spoke on the mishap via his Facebook. Soulja says "I'm sorry to say that the mixtape was not completed due to alot of changes in the plans with the reunion of the Team, and whatnot. I still will drop the mixtape, but I will also follow up "Elevation" with 2 more mixtapes entitled "The Symptom" and "Seasonal Player" for the listeners."

As of the dates for the mixtapes to be released, Soulja has not given any. But, hopefully it will be soon enough for Soulja to continue his month to month run with mixtapes.

Soulja has went back to where he was in 2008 with the leak of this new song. This song is one of those sides that Soulja shows one in a while in his release of music. Soulja said some brief words about the track before its release, he says "I had to get a lot of demons out my head, and some breathing room in my chest. Life is just been beating on me, but its never enough to stop me from making music. Music is the only relief I have, and better than any therapy I can go through."

This song has to be one of Soulja's most variable songs for he exposes a lot that is going on in his personal life. After the release of the track Soulja says "A lot of people will understand me, some won't, and judge me out of my character. I'm a artist, and I painted a picture of my own life through words. In my voice you can hear alot of anger, but in my words you can also hear my pain. The song wrote it self from the first time I heard the beat. All I did was give it a voice"

Where this song is going on Soulja's current list of projects no one knows. The song style don't fit of "Elevation", and no one knows what else Soulja is working on besides the new The Team mixtape. Stay tune for more updates.. Check out "If This Is..." here
