The talk about Soulja's new "Return to the Underground" mixtape has gone quiet. But, it seems as if Soulja is trying to get people talking with this Big K.R.I.T. inspired "Money on the Floor" type track. Entitled "Country Cousins" which features Will Boy, and produced by Johnny Juliano. Soulja spoke on the track during delivery.

He says "The mixtape isn't dead at all. I'm still recording music. I have a bunch of songs that are waiting to be mixed, but right now the timing still isn't right. I don't want people to think that I'm just saying I'm going to put out a mixtape. And, then turn around to not do so. I'm just waiting on the right time, and in that time making sure this mixtape is solid. I don't want to half-ass this project."

Soulja also spoke on why the next track he picked to be released from the mixtape was "Country Cousins" and why he has so many tracks out with Will Boy that will be on the mixtape.. He says "I just felt as if it was the right song to put out after the last tracks I put out from the mixtape. I really want to show people how many turns, and curves this mixtape will take. And, the songs are previews of what the entire thing may be. I have no problem with putting half of the songs out before the mixtape is done. I think that will build up people's anticipation to hear the full project when its finished."

It seems as if Soulja is sure of what he wants this project to do. Check out the new track featuring Will Boy below...

Its been awhile since Soulja announced "Return to the Underground" mixtape to the public. But, with almost 2 months gone. The mixtape hasn't been release. It seems as if Soulja ran into some troubles working on the mixtape. In a brief interview Soulja spoke on all the things that are stopping the mixtape from dropping any sooner.

He says "I'm not trying to rush the mixtape. I want it to be ready when its finished. I'm not going to lie. I want to put it out as soon as possible. But, time permitting the mixtape is just not ready. It doesn't seem complete to me at the moment. So, I'm going to work on more material for it until everything just sounds right to me. But, I really want to get it done before the year is out."

He continues "My main intentions with this mixtape is just to reach all parts of the things I've put out this year, and smash it together in a abstract art piece. But, until I get to that level. I'm going to continue putting out songs from the mixtape. Just to let people into what the complete product is going to sound like. And, let them know that it is getting worked on."

At the moment Soulja still haven't given any exact details on when the mixtape is going to be finished, but he did say 2 more songs from the mixtape is going to be released. Which brings features from Cash, and Will Boy.

It seems as if "Return to the Underground" mixtape is still on Soulja's to do list. He recently spoke out via Twitter that the mixtape is still under construction, but looking great in its structure. He says "RTTUG is still live, and well. Its going to have plenty features on, and a range of songs from riding music, to sit back, and think music."

Soulja recently released the full version of a sneak peek that he released earlier in the month. That featured Matt Perez, and Cash entitled "Same Ol' Feeling" from "Return to the Underground" mixtape. He also said via Twitter that another song will be released that features Will Boy. But, also hinted that a collaboration mixtape him and Will Boy might be in the makes. And, that "Return to the Underground" mixtape might be the prequel of that mixtape.

It seems as Soulja quietness is turning into a work streak. With the release of a short verse he put out earlier this week via Youtube called "Pastors and Politicians" for public view. Soulja spoke on the meaning of the song. He said "The song is to not change people views of religion or politics. The song was just my views on the similarities between pastors and politicians. If anyone feels any different they have a right. But, they could at least acknowledge my own right to express my views. That's what I do in my music. I speak my views over instrumentals. I know people won't like it, and thats fine. But, atleast it was said."

Soulja said he plans on releasing more short tracks until the release of "Return to the Underground" mixtape. So, stay turn to his Youtube, and twitter for updates.

Just the other day Soulja spoke on his reason for hiatus  and that he is working on a new mixtape entitled "Return to the Underground" and the cover work has cause some controversy saying that its a copy cat of Big K.R.I.T's "Live from the Underground" album. Soulja cleared the air on the reason why the cover work is taken from the "Live from the Underground" album. But, he re-spoke on the topic.

He says "I used the artwork for "Live from the Underground" because K.R.I.T rose for the underground level to where he is now. And, his music has been a major part into my personal life. I felt as if we're on the same wavelength lyrically. We speak the truths of the world, yet we make anthems that represent the Southern culture. That over the years have became a dying breed. I wanted something that was going to captivate the eyes with this mixtape. And, that's another reason why I used the cover work  I'm not trying to copycat K.R.I.T. and his originality  I'm just paying homage to what he has done as a young legend in the making coming from the bottom."

He continues by saying "This whole mixtape is the reinvention of Soulja Corleone. Each song is going to be paying homage to my favorite artist. From K.R.I.T. to Z-Ro. These are the artist that impact me in my personal life, and influenced me musically. So, there is going to be alot that compares to these artist, but will never met them, because I don't have the same talent as them, but it will be similar to them. But, not better than them."

Soulja recently tweeted that the sneak peek track he released will feature Will Boy, and another track he leaked called "Same Ol' Feelings" will feature Matt Perez and Cash. "Return to the Underground" has no release date yet. But, it seems as Soulja is back to his old self, and putting his focus into this mixtape. And, using all his connects to make it a great one.

Its been a while since Soulja has last been seen. He went MIA a few months after the release of his album "Music. Pain." and follow up "More than a Rapper" instrumental EP. So where has he been hiding? That has been the question burned into the fans of Soulja Corleone. And, now it seems as he's ready to return to the music once more.

In a brief speaking Soulja spoke on his reason of being MIA. He says "A little after I released my album, I feel sick due to a summer cold. Once I thought I was over that one, I gained another cold. So, I figured it'll be cool. Just to take some time off, and regain my voice, come up with some material." He continues "I really wanted to put out a follow up album after "Music. Pain." but with nothing going on in my life for me to speak about, and the cold. It was like two brick walls stopping me. And, yet again usually after I work hard on a project. I need time to reboot, and get back to writing new material. And, thats what I did."

Soulja also spoke about his upcoming mixtape, which cover work is shown above. He says "I know that I been away, and it seems right that I come back on a strong note. The year is almost over, and I really haven't put anything major under my belt since the album. So, I said to myself its almost like I'm back on the level I was when the year started, so its back to the status of working hard to put out good music." He continues with "I really wanted something out there to captivate the eyes before the ears, and something that has been captivating my ears is Big K.R.I.T's "Live from the Underground" album. So, I flipped that idea and took the artwork, put my spin on it, and entitled it "Return to the Underground" mixtape."

Soulja says that the mixtape is in the development stages, but he did put out a sneek peek of a track that will be on the mixtape. Its called "You See Meh" and can be found below. Check it out...

  • 8:24 PM
Its been a long time in the making, but the second album from Cash dropped on July 24th. Its been the most highly antipated album of all the artist on the SDIMG roster including the albums from Soulja. Talking about Soulja he recently spoke out about working on the project with Cash.

He says "Cash and myself was working on our albums at the same time. So, we took responses from each other on how the albums would sound. Although Cash had alot of input on my album. I didn't have as much on his. I guess my hiatus effected the final tracklisting. But, I'm still proud. He took the approach of making a great album. It's a all around project. And, he really showed off his abilities to be a great artist."

Soulja also spoke on where is the "When Mildley Woods meets Robbie Blunts" mixtape. He says "That project got stopped before it got started. I was ready to work on it physically, but mentally my mind was in another place. I really had wanted to work on my next album, but it was not only that. L3GEND had to move around in his living situations. And, that also stopped the progress on that. Although I heard L3GEND and Kidd is working on something, so maybe after that project the Robbie Blunts and Mildley Woods project might drop."

Although it seems as Soulja is still in a stand still, he is still planning. He didn't mention much, but he did say he is working on another "More than a Rapper" instrumental EP. And, a few more projects.
  • 12:40 AM
It wasn't long ago when Soulja blessed the people with his "Music. Pain." album, then followed up and released a his "More than a Rapper" instrumental album. Its almost been a month, and a half since its release. And, Soulja has went back into his dormant state. Or, so we thought. He has been at work on some new projects. He sat down, and spoke briefly on what is to come soon.

He says "Usually when I work on a project, I need time to bounce back. My music revolves on what is going on with me. If nothing new happens, I can't work on anything. Because I use my music to vent, not to just be creating music. But, I have been working on new beats, and I've decided on a few to use for my next EP. So, the ones I don't use will be on "More than a Rapper 2" which may release before my actual EP."

He continues by saying "I thought about it for a long time. To get over the patch I'll drop a mixtape. Something for the people. I mean not many people brought "Music. Pain." nor "More than a Rapper" but what can you expect when you've been putting out constant free music. So, I am working on something to get the people into me again. Just cause I charged for my albums doesn't mean I changed. And, is looking out for self gain. The mixtape will be something that shows what you could be hearing off "Music. Pain." maybe not. You can never say with me. But, its just concept. Nothing in stone. I may just skip it, and run into my next album."

But, Soulja is releasing something. He released a song late last week over Ace Hood's "A Hustler's Prayer" instrumental. Crowning it as the intro track to the mixtape. Where Soulja goes now with it. Is a waiting process, but he will not let the listeners down..
  • 6:42 AM
Soulja is no stranger of taking hiatuses from the game to recollect himself. But, in the mist of his onslaught after the release of his new albums "Music.Pain." and "More than a Rapper" EP. Soulja disappeared from sight for some weeks. He spoke recently on what happened.

He says "It wasn't my choice to disappear from the scene like that. I had some equipment failure, and that took me away from the scene. Without the equipment I couldn't record, or put out any new music. But, that is now over, and its back to working on new things. And, getting it planned, and put out soon."

Soulja, also spoke on what he was working on at the time before the hiatus happened. He says "I'm working with L3GEND on a project. He and Cash just put out they joint mixtape. So, I never really did a project with L3GEND when it was just him, and I. So, I figured if it'd be anytime to do one this moment after the release of my albums would be the perfect time. I know the people kind of have turned they backs away from me because I put two projects out that wasn't free. But, I got to feed myself sometimes. So, free ain't always best for me. So, to make them feel a little better I wanted to put something out free, and bring back one of they favorite personas Mildley Woods along the ride. The mixtape is with L3GEND is called "When Mildey Woods meets Robbie Blunts"

Although one thing passed Soulja in his hiatus was the release of his joint project with D. Prodigy. He said "No worries over here. The project will still be released its waiting for me to think of another release date. Which shouldn't be far in the future."
  • 3:33 PM
If you haven't heard of D. Prodigy by now, then you missed out on "Music. Pain." from Soulja Corleone. D. Prodigy was featured on the "Now or Never" single from the album. And, it seems to be that they worked more on songs than this one track. Soulja spoke on working with D. Prodigy in his interviews before the drop of his album. And, also said that there was a mixtape in the works.

It seems as that was true, but the idea of a full mixtape was short lived. Soulja spoke on the situation. He says "I wanted to work on a full mixtape with my little cousin (D. Prodigy). I wanted him to experience the fulfillment of working on a project as I do when I work on one. But, when dealing with other people. You have to work on their time, and I guess the project couldn't get enough of his time. Although we have a few songs together. I debated on weather I should put them out. I finally came to that conclusion that I was with the few songs we did together."

He continues by saying "I want the world to hear what I heard from my little cousin (D. Prodigy). He still has a long way to go, but if he continued to work at his craft, he could have the possibility to be better than me. And, what we do have is enough proof to show."

The mixtape of D. Prodigy and Soulja Corleone is called "The Compilation (Introduction of D. Prodigy)" and will be dropping June 19th.
  • 3:21 PM
It is soon to be almost a year since Soulja released "Who Is Mildley Woods?" mixtape, and in the middle of 2012 soon after releasing his album, he has re-release the mixtape. The reason being? That's something you have to ask Soulja. In a brief interview Soulja spoke on the re-releasing of his previous projects. He says "Every artist looks back on their previous projects for inspiration for their new projects. And, "Who is Mildley Woods?" mixtape was one of my most favorite mixtapes I had done myself."

He continued by saying "Its tough that people couldn't get "Who Is Mildley Woods?" mixtape. Because the site that hosted the mixtape was shut down. So, I took it upon myself to re-upload both "Who Is Mildley Woods?" original, and the Chopped and Screwed version. I may re-upload another mixtape, or so that was great to me, but some others. I'm just not worried about."

So, there it is. If you wanted to check out "Who is Mildley Woods?" mixtape. Check the links below.

Soulja has been busy these last few weeks coming off the release of his album "Music. Pain." and then readying  his "More than a Rapper" instrumental album. It seems as he won't let up off his grind. Now, he releases the first single from his upcoming album that hasn't been given a title yet. Or, atleast he hasn't released it to the public.

In a few previous articles Soulja spoke about working on the sequel album to "Music. Pain." So, it looks like he's beginning to move forward into that project right now. Soulja did speak about the single saying "The track was suppose to be on "Music. Pain." but it wasn't completed by the deadline, so I was like I'm going to save it, and put it on the new album. And, right now as I'm working on the new album. It seemed right to drop it as the leading single."

Soulja also bring Cash, and L3GEND on for a feature on this track. We asked if the sequel is going to be like "Music. Pain." with a feature on every track. Soulja says "Yeah, I like to keep a nice mix of features. And, mainly why "Music. Pain." had so many features was because I wanted to test out people on my productions. I plan to do the same with the upcoming project, and expand my feature list."

It seems as Soulja has the idea to have his new album sounding better, or just as well as "Music. Pain." If you haven't checked out the new single. It is below, and you can purchase the single for .99 cents.

  • 12:24 AM

Soulja has been talking bout his new instrumental album, which is a first for him as a producer. So, there is alot of emotions behind this project for the young artist. Although, he has shown, and prove with his just released album "Music. Pain." that was fully produced by him. That his skills are only going to get better as a producer.

Soulja tweeted, and updated his Facebook that the project is finished being mastered. And, is ready for its release in June. So, a question is what is next. Soulja has the answer. Well, not Soulja, but the members of YBG do. Its also been announced that after so many set backs. That the YBG mixtape will be released, and this time its real as can be. It been entitled as 'We the Gang, BANG BANG"

But, when the mixtape is dropping is another guess. It should be sometime soon since Soulja is dropping his instrumental album, and Cash is getting ready to drop his new album. So, its a good look for the YBG mixtape to drop sometime in between. Sounds like its highly busy at SDIMG.

Follow YBG on Twitter (@YBGGANG) for updates on the mixtape, and follow Cash also (@iCash550) on the release of his album.
  • 11:16 PM
Coming straight off the release of his new album. Soulja is preparing to work on another. But, just before that happens. He has planned to drop something different. In a previous article the news of a instrumental EP came up. Soulja has finally found a date to drop this album. While with that news Soulja has also brought the news that production of the new album has started.

In a short interview Soulja summed up what is going on. He goes on to say "I'm used to dropping some mixtapes after I drop a album, but I'm going to take a different approach this time. With my "More than a Rapper" instrumental EP coming soon. I know I wanted to put it out soon, so I chose the date of June 12th. As of right now. The instrumentals for the EP are done, and are in the final mastering stages. So, it should be out on time." He follows up by speaking on the new album. He says "I know that "Music. Pain." was short, but it meant alot to me. I had so much more I wanted to do, so a sequel EP album of the completed name that I original picked for my album will do. It will complete the EPs into a LP. And, the production has started on that. A single should be out a little before "More than a Rapper" drops."

So, it looks like there is alot on Soulja's plate to get done, but he will make it happen. Nothing is more important to him than keeping the people with new music. As you heard "More than a Rapper" instrumental EP will drop June 12, 2012. So, be on the look out..
  • 2:33 AM

It took a while for it to happen, but the onslaught has begun. As always Soulja is gearing up for another release in the coming month. But, it is a little different from his previous project. Although his new album is produced by him, but it had vocals. Soulja is getting ready to release his first instrumental album. Sometime in June.

He spoke briefly about it saying "I want to expand myself, and "Music. Pain." was my beginning. But, I still showed my strong trait with rapping, and songwriting for the project. This project will have only one focus, and that's on the music, that went into creating "Music. Pain." in its rawest form, but this is not the instrumentals from "Music. Pain." this is instrumentals that was created, and intended for "Music. Pain." but didn't fit the idea once I got started."

So, stepping from the mic to the beats. Soulja is definitively developing into a monster of a artist. He didn't say when the project will be dropping, but he did say that the instrumental album is a warm up for Cash's album, and something to hold the people until his sequel album is done to follow up his "Music. Pain." album.

People be ready, alot of people asked for Soulja's beats, but he declined. Now, here is something for those people.
  • 6:15 PM
With his album being released, and having great feedback about it. What's next for Soulja to take on. We spoke with him a few days ago. To find out what is the next projects to come.

Soulja said "I'm thinking about releasing a instrumental album. I have alot of beats I created for the album, and didn't use. That was an idea. If the people want that. Then, that is to come. I've started production on the sequel album to "Music. Pain." when that will be completed I don't know. But, I'm taking the same approach with the sequel that I did the prequel. Once the music sounds like its ready to be put out, then I will do so."

With a minor idea of his future projects, that can't be all. Knowing the type of artist Soulja is. Something else has to be coming. Once he cracked he opened up by saying "No, that's not all I have in mind. The YBG mixtape has been put on hold so many times, that myself and Cash have decided to go with what we have as far as YBG is concerned. I'm also to be working hand, and hand with D. Prodigy on his debut mixtape. But, at the moment that's going a little slow. Although it is half complete."

Seems as if the people have alot to await from Soulja in the coming month. With "Music. Pain." leading the way of the 2012 season.
  • 6:39 PM
Soulja is no stranger to beef with other artist, and its rarely he takes shots at anyone. But, did someone get on Soulja's bad side. In the mist of his new self produced album dropping. Soulja has been constant to his grind of promoting the album. But, early today via his soundcloud page. Soulja uploaded a verse to the hit track from Chief Keef called "I Don't Like" which was remixed by Kanye West, and the artist at G.O.O.D Music.

Soulja starts off mean, and finishes the same way. With a line that may stick into your brain. About 8 bars into his verse Soulja stating "Oh, they want that old Soulja back, like Makaveli I went head, and brought him back." Is this a stunt for his album being released, or is the beef between some artist, and Soulja real. Its been a while since Soulja attacked any one over beats. His last beef was a while ago with label artist Cash, which was cleared up, and squashed by both parties. So, who can it be that Soulja is attacking in this verse, or is he attacking at all.

There is no question that runs about Soulja, alot of lines Soulja writes sounds like he is taking shots at some artist, but he really isn't. Listen to the track below, and be the judge. Is Soulja dissing, or just speaking about artist in general.

  • 6:17 PM
Today, Soulja dropped the 3rd single to say from his newly released "Music. Pain." album. Soulja updated his facebook, and said that this track was suppose to be released on Mother's Day. But, it got pushed back from releasing on that day. Although late Soulja touches on a subject that most urban black males deal with. Of growing up in a single parent home, and brings along Cash to tell his story. The relate facts on this track is deep, and reaches out to many.

Soulja spoke shortly on the track. He says "I wanted a little bit of everything on the album, and for a long time I been wanting to make a song just for my mother. She is the main driving force behind the person the world knows as Soulja Corleone. So, it was like something I had to do with a project that meant so much to me."

He continues by saying "The track really came to life when I was looking through my moms old records that she gave me. And, I came across the Mack soundtrack. I skipped through some songs, and heard "Mother's Theme" on the record. And, it spoke volumes to my ears. By that night, I had purchased a digital copy of the album, loaded up the sample, and went to town on the beat. Wrote my verse while making the beat. And, recorded that night. The next day I played my verse for my mother, she felt strong by what I was saying, and agreed to everything. I know that she felt as I felt about the song. It brought joy to me to know that my words can touch my mother."

If you have not checked out the song, there is a video below. If you hadn't purchases "Music.Pain." the link is also below.

After almost year of speculation of a album coming. Soulja has finally dropped his awaited album. That  is entirely produced by him, and created under his own influence. On May 15th the "Music. Pain." album hit the digital shelves with a bang. Getting a great response from the people who awaited it.

The album is now on sale for $7.00 at http://souljacorleone.bandcamp.com and http://vibedeck.com/SouljaCorleone for purchase. The profits will go to creating the sequel project, and to the D.W. foundation. A foundation that the family of Soulja founded in 2004 for people who are ill, and awaiting organ transplants, but don't have funds to be pushed upon the list. Soulja also threw out that once the album reaches 50 downloads, a free instrumental version of the album will be given out.

Haven't checked out "Music. Pain." album. Check down below for a player to preview the album.

On the eve of its release Soulja has finally released the tracklisting, and feature list for "Music. Pain." EP. Its about time. Even though Soulja opened up about the project some time ago. It wasn't official on who made the final cut of the EP, and what songs also. But, finally the time is here.

The "Music. Pain." EP tracklisting goes as follow...

  • 8:42 AM
With May 15th right around the corner. Soulja has done nothing, but speak on his upcoming  "Music. Pain." EP via his social networks. But, the word is not out about the project yet. People are still in the dark about this project.

We spoke with Soulja about his concerns, and expectations of the EP. He says "Of all my projects, I had full control over what this one sounds like, there was no blueprint written in pre-made beats. Every beat, every verse, collaboration was all for this project. There was more hard work put into this project than any mixtape I've released before." He continues by saying "My expectations are high. This is my first body of work that I can say I created from the ground up. And, I'm hoping when it release the people will see that also."

It seems as low feedback from the singles is sort of bothering Soulja, but knowing the type of person he is. He won't let this set him back. Soulja said "There is no failure in success, and there no success without failure. If the album doesn't do well, I still have more to learn then."

"Music. Pain." will go on sale exactly at 12AM on May 14 eastern time.

  • 4:29 AM
For about 4 months Soulja has been at work on his self produced album. It wasn't until last month we found that the album was going to be a EP. It wasn't til early this month the fans found out the name of this album. But, with everything now completed the "Music. Pain." EP is ready for its May 15th release date.

Sunday via Facebook. Soulja updated his timeline with the picture of above. It is the official coverwork for "Music. Pain." EP. Even on Twitter Soulja updated the fans with tweets that the EP is in its final stages. Sunday evening Soulja tweeted "EP is complete, time to do the press work for it." It seems as though Soulja may be ready more than the fans for the EP to drop.

When it does drop the EP will cost $7.00 USD. When asked about the price tag Soulja said "I've been putting out free music for over 6 years. And, this project means more to me than any other mixtape, or free album I've released. Its not like I'm using the money to blow on a chain. Actually, whatever the EP makes will go into new equipment, and things like that. So, there can be more things other than music like Music Videos, Behind the Scenes. I look at if you supported me when it was free, support me still when it cost a little."

Either way you may see it, "Music. Pain." EP is a introduction to the next phase of Soulja Corleone. And, the people will see when the EP drops on May 15th.
  • 10:58 AM
With the EP being a few weeks away, the people want to know more about it. A short interview with Soulja Corleone clears up all the wonders about this hidden project that is just coming to light. With two singles leading the way, both of two different atmospheres.

When asked about it Soulja replied with "The singles outline what the EP sounds like to me. "Ridin' Round the City" provided one aspect of the title, that is music. And, "Now or Never" provides the other side which is pain. They come together as the opening tracks for the EP so well. Although each song on the EP works in their own favor."

Now, with that answer. Most of the fans want to know how these singles created the rest of the EP. Soulja gave a great response by saying "Ridin' Round the City" and "Now or Never" was actually the first two tracks to be completed. Same in the production aspect one day I made the beat for "Now or Never" next day I made the beat for "Ridin' Round the City" basically they was the highest candidates to be the first singles off the EP. And, from that point they became the outline for the rest of the EP production wise."

With some light shed on this EP, the fans await the release on May 15th. Even Cash who A&Red the project tweeted that it is a classic already. Now, the people must dame it another classic project under Soulja's belt.
  • 7:53 AM

It took sometime for Soulja to release the name of his EP. And, with the name announced the second single just dropped from it. Entitled "Now or Never" featuring rookie rapper D. Prodigy. Soulja spoke breifly about the track, and the EP.

He says "The track was suppose to be the first single for the EP. But, both me and Ca$h agreed that "Ridin' Round the City" would be better as a opening single than "Now or Never" for the EP, so we chose to make it the second single from the EP." He goes on to say "Working with D. Prodigy is almost like working with a younger me. I say that because D. Prodigy hasn't been rapping that long. So, the entire time of recording the track. It was coaching him through my own trail and errors that I made when I began. But, working with him is good times all around. We joke, but we still get work done. And, this track is just a first in a long line to come."

With the drop of the second single the question still lingers of when is the EP going to drop. Soulja also had a answer for that. He says "I was thinking of releasing the EP on May 15. Since it is complete, it just has to go through some last mixing, and mastering stages. Then, its ready for the world to hear."
So, now with the second single, and a possible release date for the EP.

It seems as all is a go for "Music. Pain." from Soulja Corleone. Many fans have been waiting to hear something from Soulja since the beginning of 2012. But, with push backs, and scrapped projects. Its good to finally see that something is moving in his direction, and in his favor.

After 3 months of talking about his EP, and finally releasing a single from it. Then, keeping the name hidden of it. Soulja has finally came out, and gave the name of the EP to the public. He says "After keeping the name of the EP hidden, so long. I think y'all are ready for the name of the EP. The EP is named "Music. Pain." be prepared for it."

So, the name that has been given to the upcoming EP is only two words? That is a little simple for Soulja. So, with a brief interview the whole reason was given for why this awaited, and so secret EP name was chosen. Soulja says "I chose a name for my album that I thought I would be working on at the beginning of the year. A little after I dropped the "Never Given Sunday" mixtape. But, it dwell on me so long that I fell out with it. As I began to explore more than just rapping, and started working on beats. I realized the only thing that kept me going was the music. It was a release, and escape from the pain I encountered in my personal life. And, therefore I put the two together, and came up with the name for the EP. Once I started working on it."

Seems logical enough for Soulja, he also talks about working on a sequel EP. He says "The original name for my album is still in my head, and I have plenty of leftover material that I can use in my next project, and I will use that name on that EP. Since the name of this EP goes along with the sequel that could be."

Finally, the dormant Soulja who hasn't putting nothing out since the end of 2011 has his game plan in motion. Lets see what it turns out to be.

Soulja has been working diligently on his upcoming EP, keeping alot behind the EP in secrecy. But, openly speaking about the process of working on the EP, and collaborations.

Recently, Soulja tweeted that the EP is almost completed. So, in a brief conversation Soulja was asked about where the development of the EP is. He says "The EP is about 90% completed, most of the tracks are mastered. Except for one or two that are still in production, but, will soon be done. After that its tracklisting, and doing the press work." Soulja went on to say "The second single is ready for release, and will be dropping May 1st. Its one of my favorite tracks recorded for the EP, and it would have been released as the first single, but Ca$h agreed with me that "Ridin' Round the City" fitted better as the first single for the EP."

With all that information, the EP seems to be going well, and will be on the way.

Little by little the upcoming EP from Soulja is starting to come into view. We sat down with Soulja, and talked about the features on the EP in detail for the EP. Let's hope to get more of a in depth idea of the EP, that has been put under so much wraps.

So who is featured on the EP?
Soulja Corleone: As of now, the features would stand as Ca$h, Will Boy, D. Progidy, and R.E.C.A.P for the EP.

How many tracks is Ca$h on, and how is working with him on this EP different from any project?
Soulja Corleone: Ca$h is on 2 tracks of the EP, and they classics. If I must say. Working with Ca$h is almost like working with myself. So, the tracks on this EP we at like every other track we did any project before. Giving each other the idea for our separate verse. So, when you listen to the whole song it sounds like one whole picture.

How was it working with Will Boy?
Soulja Corleone: Will Boy is a amazing artist. Most rappers try to say my verse killed everyone, but only a real artist, can give props where props is due. And, Will Boy heard what I did on the tracks, and just turned it up to another notch for his. He added in that missing element to the tracks, and really makes the track complete.

Who is D. Prodigy, and how was working with him?
Soulja Corleone: D. Prodigy is my little cousin. He been wanting to get into music since I've started getting out there, but he never took the time to sit down with me, and learn the basics. He has a good idea of what to make, but it took alot of coaching to get him where I wanted him to be just for one track. And, so working with him was a little more difficult than working with others. But, the track for the EP is good. You'll most likely hear more from him when he gets more coaching.

What was it like working with R.E.C.A.P?
Soulja Corleone: R.E.C.A.P is a good guy, and a artist with alot of potential. The track we did together he co-produced the beat for his verse, to fit more of his style, and that was fine with me. We worked together to accommodate each other, and the track sounds great. It has its balance between me, and him. So, its a all around track for the both of us.

Any other features that didn't make the cut?
Soulja Corleone: There was a few songs left on the table. One featuring L3GEND is still uncompleted, and another with D. Prodigy is uncompleted, and didn't make my deadline for the project, so they would appear on another project once they are done.

And, when are we looking forward to the release of the EP?
Soulja Corleone: I have no date written in stone, but throwing some ideas around. I'm almost settled on a date though.

Well, thats some information on the upcoming EP, hopefully next time more will be released about the EP.

As Soulja begins to kick off his upcoming EP. He sat down to speak with us about working on it, and what he's been going through working on the EP. And, possibly who will feature, and when it will be released.

When asked what was the toughest part of starting the EP, Soulja says "Finding a place to begin, but its like that with every project. But, once you have your direction. There is going to be alot of alternative roads coming your way. Sometimes its best to pick one, and roll with it." Soulja continued by saying "Truthfully the toughest part wasn't me getting started, but getting sick after I got started. That was one of my major setbacks. For a day or two it gave me time to stop recording, and work on a few new beats. But, after a week or so it got annoying cause I couldn't really record, and send out tracks to the people I was collaborating with. But, through it all... sick or not I still recorded some songs. So, I just hope the people bare with me on some tracks not sounding my best."

We then we on to ask Soulja who would be on the EP. He simply responded, and said "The regulars who always feature on my tracks with me for most of my projects. L3GEND, Ca$h, and now Will Boy since some tracks I made was really southern inspired he was the most likely candidate for spitting something  lyrical, and southern. And, I'm hoping to work with some new people for a track or two."

But, when it came down to the most need to know question. On when is the EP dropping? Soulja said "I really don't know. I never stop a project until the music stop, once the music stops. Then, I'm ready to put it out. But, since this is a EP, and not a full length album. I'm hoping to put it out sometime in May."

Now, with the knowledge of knowing the EP is dropping sometime in May. People must know the name of it, but Soulja simply said "Not yet. I don't plan on putting the name out there until the second single. Because the name of the EP truly would give away with the EP will sound like. So, that's why I'm keeping it under wraps for now."  And, with the final question to ask. Who is helping pick out the songs for the EP? Soulja says "No one other than Ca$h. He always works close with me on my projects. I let him hear alot of stuff that's unfinished so I can get a honest response back about the material. He picked the first single, and the second. And, by the time the second single drops. The EP will be on its way."

Even with all the information Soulja gave about the project. Alot is still unknown about it. Guess we'll have to wait until the release date gets close for the EP.

Its official now, the EP from Soulja is in the works, and now on the way. Today, Soulja dropped this first single from it, entitled "Ridin' Round the City" which features new yet old collaborator Will Boy. Don't remember Will Boy, he appeared on the songs "One N*gga" and "Unfamiliar Faces" from Soulja's previous mixtape "Never Given Sunday" that dropped some months ago.

And, it seems Soulja cut no corners with this smooth single. Soulja spoke on the track, and said "I chose this song as the first single, simply cause its something for the people to play in they cars. While I was making the beat in my mind. I was like I want something to bang hard in the trunks, but be smooth enough to play on a afternoon, or rolling up to the club. And, the words just came from the beat itself. I must say both myself and Will Boy painted the picture of just what I imagined making the beat."

Check out the first single from the unnamed EP from Soulja below.

If you haven't been up to date with Soulja via his social networks. He's been talking bout recording his upcoming EP. Last time we spoke with Soulja he was saying that he was planning to take his producing more serious. It seems that he is ready for that step.

He says "Everything I've done in my career up to this point, I've pre-planned to make happen. And, on thing on that list that I haven't gotten around to was to produce my own single. I've done that now, and so the plan is to produce my upcoming EP. The entire thing produced of my own design. Once I've completed that milestone. It'll be time for me to create new goals to reach."

Soulja also told us that he has completed over 50 beats, but will only be creating about 8 new ones just for this EP. He also told us that he has gotten started on the EP, and have two completed tracks. And, plans on having some collaborations on the EP. He even went on to say "This is just the beginning for Soulja Corleone producing. I'm hoping to do some work on Ca$h's next coming album, and a single or so for L3GEND, and whoever is willing to work with me in the coming future."

It seems as Soulja is ready for this step. The name of the EP hasn't been released nor is a release date for the EP. But, the way Soulja is talking it's sometime soon. Keep your ears open for something to drop from the EP soon.

Since the beginning of 2012 there has been nothing, but push back, and scrapping projects for Soulja. But, one thing that has been constant with him is making beats. Mid-2011 Soulja came out of hiding, and started showing his work. And, the response from it has been great.

Soulja says "I would have never expected the feedback I've been getting from making beats, its almost like some people would rather me make beats more than rap. But, its been something I've been doing for a while, but mainly focused on my music as a artist, and not a producer. Since I've gotten alot of good feedback about it, I've been making more, and more beats, and writing less music. I guess it was something inside of me saying this isn't no more a play thing, its time to really do something with it."

He continues to say "Its really been people on Youtube, and networking with me on Facebook that kept me wanting to become more serious, what I was doing for fun made some people want to hit me up for the track to record on them. Although its a honor to have someone wanting to do something to one of my creations. Some of my own doubt gets to me, and I decline their offer. Its no disrespect, but I have like a OCD for when I'm creating something. I want it to be as close to perfection as I can make it, and my skills are limited right now, but I'm trying to get better."

Soulja also went on to say that he is deciding to record actual songs to some of his beats, and pass some off to Cash for his new albums, and maybe drop a mixtape with the artist who hit him up about it. For now its just planning, and waiting on something to arise from Soulja. Let's hope none of these projects get scrapped as the previous ones. Check out Soulja on Youtube for some of his beats, and stay tune for more updates.

It seems as Soulja did have alot built up for his "Relevance" mixtape, that the people will have to get separate now because Soulja scrapped the project. But, it's kind of awesome to hear this freestyle from Soulja. He says "I was in the lab one night, going across instrumentals, and I heard this Eminem instrumental I had. And, all I could do was go in the booth, and lay something down to it."

After listening to the track, you can hear alot of rough cuts in flow from Soulja, but the way it bounces around on the track, it syncs up real nice. And, its really been a while since Soulja really got on a track, and attacked it as he done this one. Even on that topic he says "Lately, I been going at tracks with the same approach I did with Mildley Woods, and that was a simple flow that was easy on the beat. It wasn't really me from way back when that when I got on a beat. I attacked it full force, and go all out on it. Even with this track, although it was a freestyle, I played it back so much. I remembered my own verse, so later that night I went back, and adlib it."

Check out the freestyle from Soulja below. Going in on Eminem "Soldier" Instrumental.

For an artist with a large palette it is sometime hard to maintain all the skills. For Soulja he has done well over the coming years at maintaining, and upping his skills each release. But, due to so many set backs Soulja was sad to announce that "Relevance" may not be dropping, and a set back on the awaited YBG mixtape.

He says "As of late there has been alot causing setbacks on projects I'm working on. At first I thought it was only a minor setback for me, but its becoming more of a problem for myself. I usually deal, and adapt with problems, and handle them accordingly, but this time to solution is out of my hands." Soulja goes on to say "I really want to complete "Relevance" and have it out while finishing the YBG mixtape, then set out to work on my album, but as of now it looks like that maybe out of distance for me."

Although Soulja was filled with disappointed me, he did say what tracks that was complete for "Relevance" will drop in time. He will scrap the project, put the songs out, and start new once he is back up, and running. But, with him not being able to record doesn't stop him from working on music. Soulja also added in "I'm constantly working on new material, always writing, and always making beats. So, once I'm back, I'm going to be back for a while, and on a roll.

Soulja, and delays are something that go hand, and hand. It seems as of late Soulja went from being on a hot streak to going straight out cold. But, this time it is not his work ethic that got in the way. Just some technical problems at the Street Dreams Inc Media Lab.

Soulja says "No worries most of the songs I had for "Relevance" is still around, and intact, it's just taking a little bit longer than expected to fix the problem, but I'm getting back on my feet, and will have "Relevance" out some time in March."

Even with the technical problem it has not stop the progress of the YBG mixtape, that was set as Soulja's top priority at the beginning of the year. He says "Although I'm the one falling short the rest of the gang is hard at work, so this time it won't be none of the rest playing catch up, it'll be me. But, I'm pretty good on songs we do have, and its cool to have some tracks on the mixtape that don't feature me at all. No big for me."

The progress on the YBG mixtape is still unknown at the moment, so maybe in the early weeks of March we can hear something about the YBG mixtape.
  • 10:26 PM
Despite what he may say Soulja has been working diligiently between the YBG mixtape, and now his upcoming "Relevance" mixtape. Soulja said "It wouldn't feel right for me to the YBG mixtape without having something of my own first, and the messages don't stop that I need something new out. So, with a little digging, and a new creative spirit "Relevance" will be soon complete for everyone who is waiting."

Soulja updated his Facebook fan page, and said that he recorded 2 freestyles just for this mixtape, and that makes it even more special since we haven't heard a freestyle from Soulja in a while since his "I Am the Present" mixtape. Soulja also said that he will be putting out one of those freestyles soon from "Relevance" for the people to know that it is on the way.

After deep questioning Soulja did come out, and said there will be features on this mixtape from Ca$h, EVS of Money Gang, and L3GEND. Although he did say it is on the way, he gave no date that the mixtape will be finished, and given to the people.

So, stay tune to Soulja's facebook, and Twitter for updates on the YBG mixtape, and  his "Relevance" mixtape.
  • 5:06 PM
The more you'll ask Soulja when he's going to drop something, he'll continue to say he isn't trying to release nothing. But, he called us up to tell us he is dropping something for those who've been asking for something new. He said "Its not really a mixtape, but more of a free EP. I've had some songs I've worked on for YBG, but they was never used. So, its a work in progress, and it should be out soon."

Soulja said that the mixtape will named "Relevance" and possibly will drop at the end of February. Although he said there is no promise that it will come out, now that he is dealing with the lost of a close one, but he is determine to put something out for the listeners.

Be on the look out for "Relevance" from Soulja Corleone.
  • 2:36 PM
Soulja worked on alot of songs for his "Never Given Sunday" mixtape. And, planned to work with alot of peoples. But, do to setbacks on those he was collaborating with some tracks wasn't on the final version of the mixtape.  So, slowly Soulja said that he would release the extras that belonged on "Never Given Sunday" to the people.

And, here is one of the tracks featuring EVS called "Ups and Downs" which was in "Enter the DOJO" on "Never Given Sunday" but was not in full version. So, check out the new track below. Soulja did say that the track was unfinished for the reason the singer who was suppose to do the hook never came through, but after long consideration, he came to the fact that the song is just as good without one.

  • 9:42 AM

Lately, Soulja have been MIA from the scene as a solo artist, but always at work on the YBG mixtape. That is suppose to drop sometime this year. But, through all the recording Soulja have been perfecting his new craft of producing. And, a few days ago via his facebook page Soulja updated with "Subject Matter, that is all."

Many people close to Soulja says that maybe the name of his 2012 album. Which this is rumored, it could possibly be true. Although when speaking to Soulja he simply said "I'm working with YBG, and YBG only nothing is coming before this mixtape." And, last time we spoke to Soulja that was his word that YBG will be his main focus for 2012. But, there is a possibility that he is working on something for Soulja is very undercover with his work.

We will have to see in the coming months on what is cooking in the Street Dreams Media Lab that is marked Soulja Corleone before this rumor can have some truth to it.
  • 10:24 PM
Its been a odd start for Soulja since the new year came in, and he hasn't really released any music. But, a reason was found out why there haven't been. Soulja has been working with L3GEND on releasing his new "Robbie Blunts' 24 Hour Kush Diet" project. And, focusing on finish up the 2011 YBG project.

Soulja says "I'm happy to have L3GEND back working, and his mixtape has been on hold for the longest, about as long as the YBG project. So, when he did get some kind of stability to get back on his feet. We all chipped in, and helped to push this project along. With L3GEND being gone that is what really delayed the YBG mixtape in the first place. But, we're all working on getting that back on track, and having that out very soon."

We asked Soulja what is his status on releasing something, he says "To be honest I'm not even looking to releasing something solo, as I said in 2011. I was going to focus on the label, and getting everyone back up to speed. Last year I think I did enough with the three mixtapes I put out, and so did Cash. So, 2012 is really about L3GEND, and Rocky. On top of that I just found out that 7-Digitz is making his return, and I'm really going to work close with him on his projects."

L3GEND's mixtape has no release date, but it sometime soon. Keep your ears open for "Robbie Blunts' 24 Hour Kush Diet" and the YBG mixtape.

Soulja has been doing his music thing for a while, and has left a trail from his past to where he is now. Going through his Youtube channel. There were two videos one in 2009, and in 2010 of the young artist. Where he showcased his skill. The only question remains is 2009/2010 Soulja or 2012 Soulja Corleone.

Check out the videos below.

Not even illness can stop Soulja from making hot music, and he didn't do it alone. YBG is back in full effect. The group formed early 2011 as a extension of the group The Team with additions the Kid, and L3GEND. And, were set to release a mixtape, but do to some setbacks of one of the members the mixtape never dropped.

The last time we spoke with Soulja in his Q&A session, he said that putting out the YBG mixtape was one of his main concerns for the year. It seems as that plan is now in motion. Although Soulja who had been updating his day to day tumblr had said he had fallen ill with a cold, and wasn't working on music. Kept pushing through the illness to record this amazing verse on this song. Along with a feature on SDIMG's artist Ca$h remix of "Shine" this week.

Possibly when Soulja fully recovers the YBG mixtape will be completed, and released. Soulja said via his facebook page "It felt good to work with L3GEND again, its been so long, and not even illness can stop me from working with him, and the great artist I have around me."

Check out the track below, and leave some feedback.

YBG - Bout Dat by Soulja Corleone
  • 3:23 PM
So, its now 2012 for those who haven't realised that it was. And, the last time we talked to Soulja was at the end of 2011. Well, we finally caught up to the ghost himself, and had a little Q&A with him about the year, and what he has planned. So, lets get into it.

What's the main focus of Soulja Corleone in 2012?

Soulja Corleone: Duh, do better than I've done in 2011. (laughs) I didn't mean it like that, but every artist says the year is theirs, and whatnot. And, they just fail at that. I just say I'm gone do better in the next year, than I did in the last year. That's pretty much it. Raise the bar on what I did last year... pretty much.

Are you working on any projects, or just brainstorming?

Soulja Corleone: I'm actually working on a project. And, thats putting the YBG mixtape together... finally (laughs) Got to say finally cause last year we said we gone drop it, we gone drop it, and we never dropped it. So, I'm putting that as my main focus before any solo project is to get the YBG mixtape together. Since we had alot of tracks already, just gone to work on some new ones, and drop something atleast as a group. For myself I'm just brainstorming. Y'all know I'm a agent of secrecy when it comes to projects.

So, main question is what's is the future of SDIMG, and where do it stands as a label, and artist wise?

Soulja Corleone: The future is now, simple as that. I mean I don't predict, or try to guess some sh*t. I just go with the flow, I believe the future is the present. I mean everyone has been working... some kind of way. I mean myself, and Cash pretty much lead the relevance on the label. Rocky dropped one mixtape, while L3GEND, and the Kid (Hollywood) been MIA. But, L3GEND ran into some setbacks, but we're helping him get on his feet. So, he will be bouncing back soon. As a label we still have alot of work to do to get better as a unit. And, that's the direction I really want to push this year.

Last question.. If you could bring anyone back to the label. Who would it be?

Soulja Corleone: Wow, thats a tough one to be honest. If I could bring anyone back? Hmm, I think it would be 7-Digitz. He was the most slept on out of all of us, and I think he deserves more than a chance to prove he is more than what came out. I'm sure he's evolved musically just as everyone else has, and I would love to hear that.

Soulja, then left us in the building alone, and we did pick around the PC which he records on, and found that he has been working on some new things, so now that we know that. Expect something out the unexpected for Soulja Corleone in 2012.
